2019 Weston Creek Half Marathon

The 33rd Weston Creek Half Marathon will be run on Sunday 17 March 2019. Registrations are now open. Instructions Race numbers need to be collected at the Northern end of Carver Close, which is a short walk (400m south) from the start line from 06:30am. We will transport athletes gear left at the start line to the finish area. Please note that the Half Marathon is only open to competitors over the age of 18. Competitors under 18 and 13 or above can participate as a relay runner. For safety reasons, no dogs or strollers are permitted in the event. The event has a cut-off time of 2 hours 30 minutes. Runners deemed unable to finish within the time limit may be removed from the course. This will be enforced. Relay teams will be advised of the precise location of the changeover points in the days leading up to the event. Relay runners need to organise their own transport. 2019 10km Community Fun Run

This event will be held in conjunction with the Half Marathon and will commence at 08:00, half an hour after the departure of the Half Marathon competitors. Registrations are now open. Register Now or Download Entry Form Individual runners: $40.00 (free for over 75s) Late Individual entry (after 11 March 2018): $55.00 CLOSING DATE FOR TEAM REGISTRATION AND EARLY BIRD FEES Monday 11 March 2018 Fees include BBQ at the finish Note: this event will be electronically timed and all bibs must be returned after the event or an additional payment of $5 will be requested. Course Description The course starts at the end of Garryowen drive on Black Mountain Peninsula. Runners will proceed along Garryowen drive and turn left onto the shared path just before Lady Denman drive. Runners then proceed along the shared path, (keeping to the left hand side) around West Basin for about 4km; there will be a water station at the turn around point. Runners turn and retrace their steps to Black Mountain Peninsula. Here they turn right onto the bike path near the rowing sheds and enter John Cardiff Close for the finish.   Register Now . Download Entry Form   The Weston Creek Half Marathon and 10k Community fun run has been rescheduled for Sunday the 18th of October 2020. All precautions will be taken to minimise any risk from COVID-19 spreading. The water stations will have pop up water bottles available and the food and water available after the race will be individually pre-packaged. The number of participants in the Half Marathon will be limited to 300, including relay teams. The 10k community fun run will be limited to 150. There will be no late entries on the day. Entry costs for new participants will remain at $65 for individuals and $80 for relay teams in the Half Marathon and $50 for the 10km Community fun run. Should the risk to volunteers and participants be considered by the race organisers to be too risky, based on the current medical advice, a decision to cancel the 2020 event will be promulgated to participants by COB Friday 9 October. All registered participants would then be offered a free and automatic entry to the 2021 event, scheduled for Sunday 14 March 2021. 2022 Weston Creek Half Marathon

Register Now   The Weston Creek Half Marathon and 10k Community fun run is scheduled for Sunday the 6th of March 2022. All precautions will be taken to minimise any risk from COVID-19 spreading. The Half Marathon will be held under Covid -19 restrictions which may limit activities before and after the event, depending on what is allowed at that time e.g a presentation ceremony may not be possible and prizes forwarded to the recipients later. The field is limited to 300 participants. There is a time cut-off for completion of the event of 3 hours 30 minutes. Fees The early bird entry fee is $55 for individuals and $50 for Griffins and ACTMA members and applies up to 24 December 2021.  From midnight on 24 December to 6 February 2022 the fee rises to $60 for individuals but remains at $50 for Griffins and ACTMA members.  From midnight on 6 February 2022 until closure of registrations on 2 March 2022 the late fee kicks in with $80 for individuals and $70 for Griffins and ACTMA members. Register Now   This event will be held in conjunction with the Half Marathon and will commence half an hour after the departure of the Half Marathon competitors. The Weston Creek Half Marathon and 10k Community fun run is scheduled for Sunday the 6th of March 2022. All precautions will be taken to minimise any risk from COVID-19 spreading. The entry fees are $40 for early bird, $45 for 24 Dec to 6 Feb and $50 for late entries (after 6 February 2022). Race Bibs may be collected from Thursday 3rd March to Saturday 5th March from the Runners Shop in Colbee Court Phillip or on the morning of the race from 6:30 am at Black Mountain Peninsula at the starting line adjacent to the toilet block. Please allow sufficient time to collect your bib and attach it if you intend leaving collection to the Sunday morning. 2023 Weston Creek Half Marathon and 10km Fun Run

Weston Creek Athletics Club (Canberra Redbacks) is proud to announce the 37th running of our iconic half marathon on Sunday 19th March 2023, along with our 10 km community fun run. Race Information: Both events may be held under Covid -19 restrictions which may limit activities before and after the event, depending on what is allowed at that time e.g. a formal presentation ceremony may not be possible after the event but medals, prizes and lucky draw prizes may be presented as you cross the line instead, courtesy of our electronic timing system. This has worked well in past events. In 2022 we were able to hold a formal presentation ceremony and hopefully we will be able to do so again for this event. Gift vouchers and medals not collected on the day may be collected from the Runners Shop in Colbee Court, Phillip, at your convenience. The field is limited to 300 participants as both events are conducted almost solely on bike paths, apart from the start. There is a time cut-off for completion of the event of 3 hours 30 minutes.
