SUMMARY:2016 Annual Club and Life Members Dinner
DESCRIPTION:The Weston Creek Athletic Club would like to extend an invitation to all of the club’s financial members to join with the club’s Life Members at a dinner on Saturday 6 August. \nRamas Fiji-Indian Restaurant in Pearce is the venue for our annual Life Members Dinner.  Ramas is a BYO wine restaurant\, there is  no corkage charge and the food is delicious and not too expensive. There is a bottle shop very close by too. Menus can be viewed on the Ramas website here. \nClub Members and friends are cordially invited to participate for the opportunity of fellowship and the opportunity to meet some of the people who formed and maintained the Club for over 30 years. SUMMARY:31st Weston Creek Half Marathon 2016
DESCRIPTION:Instructions\nRace numbers need to be collected at the Northern end of Garryowen drive\, which is a short walk (400m south) from the start line. We will transport athletes gear left at the start line to the finish area. \nPlease note that the Half Marathon is only open to competitors over the age of 18. Competitors under 18 and 13 or above can participate as a relay runner. \nFor safety reasons\, no dogs or strollers are permitted in the event. The event has a cut-off time of 2 hours 30 minutes. Runners deemed unable to finish within the time limit may be removed from the course. This will be enforced. \nRelay teams will be advised of the precise location of the changeover points in the days leading up to the event. Relay runners need to organise their own transport. \n Register Now\nor  \n  Download Entry Form\nCourse Description\nThe course is unchanged over recent years. \nThe course starts at the end of Garryowen Drive on Black Mountain Peninsula. Runners will proceed along Garryowen Drive and turn left onto the shared path just before Lady Denman Drive. Runners then proceed along the shared path\, (keeping to the left hand side) around West Basin and over Scrivener dam before following shared paths past the ovals at Curtin\, under McCulloch Street and adjacent to Yarra Glen. The shared path then crosses under Melrose Drive and passes the pitch n putt in Woden. Shortly after runners turn and retrace their steps to Black Mountain Peninsula. Here they turn right onto the bike path near the rowing sheds and enter John Cardiff Close for the finish. \nThere are 5 drink stations on the course situated approximately every 4kms. \nFor further details of the course click here.
