Thank you to all of the runners who have entered our iconic event this year, We have 92 starters in the 10km community fun run and 209 individual runners in our 35th half marathon plus six relay teams of 3 per team. 30% of the individual half marathon runners are female. We have attracted runners from NSW, WA, SA and QLD in addition to our locals and wish all safe travels and a very pleasant stay. It will be the last day of the Balloon Festival so the runners will have a clear and close look at them during the event. Good weather is forecast for the day. There is a copy of the course maps on the website so please take this opportunity to acquaint yourself with your course beforehand.
A reminder to please collect your e-bibs on Saturday 13th March outside the Black Mountain Peninsula toilet block at the end of the Peninsula between 3 pm and 5 pm. This will greatly reduce the queues on the day of the event. E-bibs may also be collected from 6:30 am on the 14th.
The event will be conducted in a COVID-safe way and you are asked to use the hand sanitizers and socially distance on the day. Please bring your phones and log onto the Canberra App on the day as this becomes compulsory from 6 March and we do not want you or the Club fined for not adhering to this regulation.
There will be presentations of trophies and medals after the event so please stay around for those and there are even more barrel draw prizes this year.
Lastly, there will be no wave starts this year, hooray! The half marathon starts at 7:30 am and the 10 km at 8:00 am. We wish you an enjoyable run and a memorable experience and hope you return for our 36th Weston Creek half marathon next year.
